Education Credit Union Foundation – Teacher Grants

This campaign for the Education Credit Union Foundation puts a real teacher at the center of the story. Jenny, a classroom teacher and grant recipient, shares her own experience on camera, talking through what it meant to receive funding through the foundation’s teacher grant program and how it changed what she was able to do for her students. The tone stays warm and grounded, letting her voice carry the piece rather than leaning on narration or a heavy production style.

The creative approach favored simplicity and trust. Shot in a comfortable, familiar setting, the interview style was built around natural conversation rather than a scripted read, so Jenny’s testimonial feels honest and unforced. Cutaways and supporting footage were used sparingly, keeping the focus on her words and the genuine impact of the grant.

Creative Goals

  • Center the story on a real teacher’s voice and experience
  • Highlight design as narrative: lines, surfaces, and details become the story
  • Strip away cliché advertising tropes and return to cinematic minimalism

Outcome

The spot aired on television in 2024 and helped put a human face on the foundation’s grant program. By letting Jenny tell her own story, the piece gave viewers a clear, relatable sense of how the grants directly support teachers and classrooms.
